No Deal and Happy October

Hi there, Steve and I had another interesting adventure yesterday. We went to Chi-town to audition for the Deal or No Deal tv show. We arrived on Navy Pier early (before 10a.m.) but apparently not early enough. There were over 10,000 people in line! Rather than a casting call, it was a cattle call. Moo. The wait from where we were standing was 9 hours. Okay, I like money but I'm not GREEDY. Nevermind, we'll send in the videotape. The day was in no way wasted, however. It was a gorgeous day in the Windy City and we had never seen Navy Pier (except at a distance with the large ferris wheel.) It was about 65 degrees and sunny (until a couple hours later.) We caught up with my sister and brother-in-law and his parents. We visited the Lincoln Park Zoo and then dined at a restaurant called Stanley's, another Chicago restaurant we have never visited. It was ok. After we said our goodbyes, we headed back to the Kumimobile. On our way, it started to rain and then the proverbial floodgates opened and it was a downpour! Actually, more like a side pour. We ducked into a corner convenience store and the rain was blowing sideways! The rain eventually abated and we trotted to our car. We drove home. The Lake was awesome, with the dark gray clouds and the water was lighter shade than the clouds. Tres cool. On our mini-trek, Steve has started the habit of counting Priuses on the road. So I combined two characters (The Count from Sesame Street and an episode from Southpark making fun of the Prius car owners who are pious in the land of Smug) and created one for Steve: Count Pius. After we arrived home, we napped for a couple of hours and then headed to a friend's house for a late autumn party. I met my friends newborn, Oliver Charles. He's so cute! We stayed until almost midnight and then crashed. It was a great day. Oh, by the way--Happy October! Love, Lolo
