Camera Lessons, Spring Musings and Sleepy Saturday

Hello, there!

I had another digital camera lesson with my fabulous husband. He taught me how to download pictures from the camera to the computer. That's why I can post fun photographs for all to see!
At the top of the page you will see Latte and I in the living room.

The daffodils are blooming and the grass is greening nicely. The birds are chirping and that makes the kitties happy. It's time to set up the wildflower garden, but first I need to whitewash the fence. It has seen better years!

Last night our friends had a gift certificate to use and invited us to Rum Runners, which is a rowdy night of dueling pianos, entertainment, and fun! There was also a guitar player and drums. It was a treat. I wanted to jump behind the drums and start playing, but decided against it. Must start practicing more! We came home at 11:30p.m. Thank you, friends!

I practiced taekwondo this morning and so proud that I had the gusto to drag my weary self out of the sack and into the zone of hi-ya and gii-upp!

I had another sleep marathon--four hours. Husband finally woke me up to make sure I was still breathing. He had all the windows open for "fresh air". I asked, do my feet stink that bad? Or is it my breath? He started laughing. No, he just wanted fresh spring air. Okay. He tends to tease me when I am groggy, when my sugar is usually low and I say off-the -wall things.

For example, I was microwaving macaroni and cheese today and told him that real time was going backwards on the microwave. (Well, it kind of is because the numbers are lowering.) Please, lock up the kitchen when I am half-awake!

Anyhow, have a great week!

Hello, Tuesday Night, Operation Hair Chop, and Vampires

Another beautiful day in Metropolis. I have tomorrow off and am excited to play in the yard and finish a few projects. The stone massage and operation hair chop last week was fab. It's short, sassy and wild art hair!

Javacat is the model for this blog post, especially since I am talking about a fiction book about vampires.

I'm reading another book called You Suck: A Love Story by Christopher Moore. It's tres edgy. The reviewers are comparing Christopher Moore to Kurt Vonnegut. And I love the quote by Carl Hiaasen, who is one of my favorite writers: Christopher Moore is a very sick man, in the best sense of the word.

It's a book to bite into. (Couldn't resist.) His website is
Moore later. (Tee hee hee.)

Happy Spring!

I took a mental health day today. So far, I ran a load of dishes, made phone calls, relaxed, and am catching up on my blog. I also ventured out into the yard. Every year is a new start! Gardening smarter, not harder. Also, we have a kitty named Expresso who visits us in the yard. (It doesn't help that we leave food out for her.)

Oh, BTW, I am reading The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. It is an amazing book!
I am putting out vibes of extravagance to the universe, so I am treating myself to a hot stone massage today at 4p.m.!

More Later!

Beautiful Tuesday!

Today was definitely a gift, wasn't it? I'm so glad I was outside enjoying the sunshine. It makes me want to plunge into my garden and dig, but it's still early. Time to trim and clean up.

Have a Happy Wednesday! Anyone get a copy of The Secret yet? I can't wait to read it!

Spring Forward and Jack Antics

Hello! It's a beautiful Sunday and I am going to do the lolo trot. I will also go out into the yard and see what's going on there, perhaps start the preliminary clean-up. I have great ideas about making the yard pretty and easy to maintain!

Jack the cat has a new trick... he brushed off the top of my bedside bookshelf with his left paw and then proceeded to hop on the top of the bookshelf and stared at me until I woke up to feed him. At least he didn't bite my nose.

Have a great week!

Spring is Near and Painted Toes

It feels so good today! The sun is happy, the sky is clear, and the snow is lazily melting away. I did the lolo stomp around the block four times. And I will be doing taekwondo tonight (again) Hi-YA! And tonight it will be with painted toes, dahling. I was tired of looking down at my naked toenails. Now I'll feel more gurl power when I hit the boards. (I need to break more before graduating to Blue Belt.)

The nail polish color I am wearing on my toes is called Vampire State Building. Check out the great lacquers (fancy for polish) on I didn't find vampire state building online, so they must have named it something else.

I will be working on writing and housework later this evening... but not too late because of working tomorrow...

These Boots Were Made For Walkin'

We surprised my Mother-in-Law by hosting a lunch at The Emporium. It was for her birthday. It was with my parents and his parents. We also had impromptu cawfee tawk with two of my girlfriends.

And I wore my boots. My black, sleek, nosebleed boots. And I didn't trip.

Have a good week!

Happy Saturday

I have a three-day weekend. Yippee! I haven't had three days off in a row for awhile. I went to taekwondo last night. It was great and tiring. Surprisingly, I did not wake up feeling run over by a huge truck. We'll see what happens today.

I will probably do some li-bary stuff so I am not swamped next week, but won't do too much. I will do some housework, some writing on Greenie book. Steve and I visited Border's last night (can't get enough of books) and tried to purchase The Secret by Rhonda Burnes(sp?). After seeing the #1 Best Seller spot empty, we checked at the service desk and no, it wasn't there. Hmmm. Will have to wait it out.

I perused the local history section and started looking through the publishers. I may market this book with a local history slant. I think that would be a good thing.
Now just plug away and keep writing. Yup. This book will be finished someday soon.

Meanwhile, enjoy the foto of our tree in the backyard. It blooms in the springtime. Think Spring!

Hi, Jack, and Greenie

Happy March! I had difficulty getting into my blog to post. I ended up going to the comments part, signing in that way, and then using the dashboard. (I feel very sneaky. Ha Ha Ha)

Despite the snow and howling wind, I am so glad to see March arrive! February was just brutal for us. Anyhoo, after a two-week hiatus I am returning to taekwondo. I have slept all day like a big cat, so I should be well-rested. If I start grooming myself in class, call the vet(LOL). Jack is now grooming Java's head. And she just smacked him. Enough, already!

Jack the cat may have used one of his nine lives, but he has returned to health. He has congestion and asthma (sounds familiar). He just needed a shot of steroids in the bum and he was doing much better. No cancer, liver levels are better, and he does need to have his bladder stones removed, but it's not an emergency.
Thanks to all of you for your kind words.

Good news! Greenie the Wondercar is paid off! (Just a stupid loan payment of like $40.00 and she's mine mine mine!) It will be nice to have one car paid off--it will help with Jack the Cat's vet bills. We're going to make him go to work soon. :p

Oh, BTW, read Marley & Me by Josh Grogan. It's a true story about the world's worst dog. It was (sniff) a recommended read! I'm lately attracted to reading stories written by columnists. First Erma Bombeck (rest her soul), then
Carl Hiasssen, then Josh Grogan...I am seeing a trend.

Happy Weekend!
Love, Lori
