Wounds, Prowlfest, and the Kitchen's too Clean to Cook

Hello--

Hope you are well. Life is grand. My husband and cats (yes, plural)wounds are healing up nicely. I need a bloody vacation!!! I have been dividing up my time surviving summer reading, attacking my hairy yard, spending time with family/friends, squeezing in taekwondo, trying to lose my summer weight (Mom's
cooking suits me too well)and lightening the junk in da trunk with my evening power walks, reading Elizabeth Adler's Sailing to Capri, writing when I can, and trying to sleep as much as possible.

Last weekend I spent a fun evening out with the girls. Our grrl group hung out at a friend's house and then went dancing at this nightclub. Of course, I dressed up prudishly in jeans and a light sweater, showing bits of skin here and there.(Yes, I let my forearms show.)And my grrlfriends looked fabulous! But oh my gosh... there were some outfits I wouldn't wear in my own home! It used to be really classy with upscale professional types. Now it was just... prowlfest.

I found another excuse not to cook... my kitchen's too clean! Seriously, I spent a couple of hours Sunday really sprucing up the joint, clearing the dust rabbits that migrated on the stovetop and everything. Then, what to have for dinner? Logan's. Yup.
The kitchen's too clean to cook. (That's just as good of an excuse as not mowing the lawn because the ducks are nesting).

And the service at Logan's restaurant was awesome!

Have a good week.

Love,
Lolo

Be Weird

I found this from an attachment a friend sent to me.
Weird is grand.

XOXO lolo

8 Things

A friend sent this to me, so I'll try it out on my blog: The rules are simple…Each player lists 8 facts/habits about themselves. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning before those facts/habits are listed. At the end of the post, the player then tags 8 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog. 1. I miss my family and friends and wish to spend more time with them. 2. I am attempting to finish my book. 3. I want to earn my black belt in taekwondo. 4. I would like to keep playing percussion. 5. I want to muster the nerve to travel more often. 6. I would like to teach college someday. 7. I would like to act again. 8. I want to make a difference in this lifetime.

TGIF

Hi, There-- TGIF! I don't want to wish my days away by any means, but it's been crazy so far and summer isn't officially here yet. Jack the Wondercat is faring well. I found a new trick to giving him his pain medication... rub the liquid over his favorite treats--not too much so he'll refuse the treats--and he has been munching away. (Plus the treats are dental and good for his teeth). Like most cats, he does not take medicine well. Today Steve has to go to the doctor and have stitches removed...we should find out the results of his biopsy. (I've been told no news is good news). I don't mean to be preachy but please, please wear sunscreen! Book of the week: Pants on Fire by Meg Cabot. It's cute--I listened to it in the car. It's a teen read, but adults can enjoy it as well. Love, Lolo

Jack the Wondercat

Hi, there--

Poor Jack the Cat had surgery today. He has bladder stones removed. Poor sweet baby. He is doing okay. His tummy is shaved and he has stitches and a wound on his arm from the iv. Keep him in your kitty thoughts for his recovery.

Love, Lolo

P.S. I read a macabre book called Hannibal Rising by Thomas Harris. It's very interesting. I finished it today. I also finished Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult. Very interesting. Now I have finished one log (5 books) for the Summer Reading Program.

Fly Me to the Moon

Hi! I discovered a new author today! It's a cool book called Fly Me to the Moon by Alyson Noel. The story is about a late twenty-something Flight Attendant named Hailey Lane who has a tramatic break-up with boyfriend Michael and then has a series of adventures. It's about 70% fun chic lit and 30% substance with inspiring passages for future writers. And from the author's history, I am convinced this is somewhat autobiographical, but who cares? Write what you know... Have a great day and keep reading! Love, Lolo

Yar! Pirates!

A-Hoy Mateys!

Last Wednesday night Steve and I viewed Pirates of the Caribbean III. It rocks as much or more than the first two! I won't give out spoilers for you pirate-philes out there (yes I made up a new word). I love Johnny Depp!

Steve and I take turns watching moovies that ordinarily we wouldn't watch. We originally started 100 movies in 100 days in 2005-2006, but with all the real drama that was going on in 2006, we decided to postpone it. Who knows, maybe we will still write a book on 100 movies, and use the following rating systems:

Lolo's favorite moovie food is Twizzlers. I would use the four-bag rating system to evaluate the moovie.

Steve's favorite moovie food is Raisonettes. He would use the four-box rating system to evaluate the moovie. I googled an image search and there was nothing on Raisonettes! We'll just have to sneak a box home and take a foto! I'll send the pirates out after them! YAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Incivility

Hey. It's the last day of November. With the exception of an amazing cruise in 2015, this November has probably been the fastest mont...
