Monday, Memorial Day

Gravel Lake- LCS, May 2009
This was a tough day. We slept in, purchased flowers to plant on the deck and to take to the cemetery. Steve and I went back to the cemetery a little longer to spend a little more time with Mom. We also walked and visited the other graves. It was interesting to see the ages on the gravestones. Some were dated back to the early 1800's. It wasn't spooky or macabre, but peaceful. The bee that was buzzing around us seemed out of place, as it interrupted the loud quiet. The wind rustled through the wildflowers that lined the perimeter of the cemetery. After we returned home, seven of us ate a lovely meal prepared by Dad. Mom was on our minds.
