Mom Weekend

Hi there, It was a great weekend. Mom's birthday bash was so much fun. We went to this great bistro in Michigan, and then we had cake and ice cream and a moonlight cruise on Gravel Lake. You could see the Big Dipper, Orion's Belt, and the crescent moon. There were 21 people inside Mom and Dad's place. I think I like Mom's birthday even better than my own! (We're nine days apart.) More Later! Love, Lolo

Sunset of Life and Sunset on Silver Beach

Hi There, It's a been a lovely day. This morning I visited a friend who is in the sunset of her life. She inspires me in so many ways. She has outlived her time that the doctors have given her. We ate chocolate together to celebrate life. After hugs and promises to see her again soon, I left to lunch with my husband and a friend. It was fun. Later I took a photograph to the consignment shop, attended tae kwon do (two of my classmates broke boards and belted up to purple!) and cleaned up to go to the beach. Steve and I drove up to New Buffalo, Michigan and ate at Redimax (a casual lunch/dinner place.) It was crowded, but we managed to eat and finish in plenty of time to watch the magnificent sunset over the beach. We picked a spot near the large rocks. We skipped rocks and wrote in the sand. The water was warm (rare for Lake Michigan.) The balmy evening was enhanced with colors of pink and purple and gray and blue. The sun was an orange and pink. Lake Michigan was wavy with a g…

Birthday and Weekend

Hi, It's been a great week. I am now 35. Old enough to run for office. And my sister says she doesn't trust me to make the decision with the little red button in the Oval Office. Hrumph. It's okay. I don't want the gig anyway. It ages people too much! My birthday was great. My staff made me a buffet lunch and my folks and in-laws treated Steve and I at Applebee's. Yum. It was a nice day. Have a great week! Love, Lolo

Last Day in the old Statistical Category!

Hi there, Today is the last day I will be in the 18-34 range... Starting tomorrow, I will be 35! How strange to be 35. But life gets more interesting, too. And it's better than the alternative. I do wish AARP would stop sending me stuff. I'm not there yet! Love, Lolo

Wax on, wax off

Hello there! Yes, I played hooky from taekwondo last night. It was too hot to spar and I will go on Friday again. I attended class on Monday, so I will have met my minimum of 2x per week. And I walked after dinner with the folks and gardened for an hour. (No guilt complex here. Ulp.) One of our taekwondo moves involves the famous "wax on, wax off" from the Karate Kid. (If you lived through the 1980s, you would remember.) Speaking of wax... Are you as tired as I am about summer grooming for the outdoors? Summer is great and bathing suit season is tolerable, but the grooming is annoying. I guess it's a tradeoff for not applying as much makeup. I need to buy stock in band-aids for the number of cuts obtained during the big shave. (In the Great Battle of the Pink Razor, the razor is usually victorious.) So when Steve and I picked up more drugs for this stubborn sinus infection that insists on taking a summer vacation inside my head, I perused the many aisles of bea…

Happy Rainy Tuesday

Hello there, It's been a busy day. Good news--my photograph sold at the consignment shop! Yippee! I will find another nature one to frame and sell. I will also purchase business cards. :) This weekend was fun. I spent it in Michigan with a girlfriend. We collected rocks on the beach and watched the waves. We also dined at the Cherry Hut. Benzonia, Michigan is gorgeous! More Later! Love, Lolo

Happy 4th!

Hello there! It's been a warm and wonderful 4th of July here in Mishawaka. Steve and I spent the weekend at Gravel Lake. We spent today at the movies and later with Mom and Dad Sigety and the kitties. It was relaxing. We spent part of Steve's movie gift card and viewed Superman Returns at the theater. According to the stub from the previous movie V is for Vendetta, the last movie we viewed at the theater was in March! The superman movie was great. Kevin Spacey played Lex Luthor(sp) and he was deliciously evil. The folks who played Superman/Clark Kent and Lois Lane did a fine job. The cinemotogaphy was amazing... it was futuristic but you still felt you were among the pages of a comic book, especially with the character played by Parker Posey. (Lex Luther's girlfriend.) I recommend this to be viewed at the cinema! I play Library on Wednesday. Have a great holiday! Love, Lolo
