October 30, 2007 was a life-changing day. It was the anniversary of my two-year journey as a library manager. More significantly, it was the day my mother was diagnosed with lung cancer. We don't have specifics yet, and we are doing more testing to see the extent of the cancer. With 21st century medicine and treatment options, there is hope. There is always hope.

I have to admit to being a blog lurker--but today I wanted you to know that my thoughts are with you and your family. Anyway, know that even friends from (too far) back and and quite far away are wishing you, your mom, and all of your family strength and health. Heather Norton
