4th of July Weekend in a Pandemic
We didn't do too much this weekend.
After working all day on Friday, I drove home,
read for about an hour, and fell asleep early.
Speaking of reading, do you remember the Warriors cat series by Erin Hunter?
Well, I've plowed through books one and two. It's based on
a housecat named Rusty who decided that domestic life wasn't
for him and joined a Warrior Cat Clan.
(I would have stuck with the domestic life; it's too much effort in the wild.)
I'm glad Rusty chose a different path, though, or it would be a very boring series.
Instead of Fire and Ice, it would have been titled Cat Toys and Dreams or Hairballs and Naps.
Anyway, there's about 6o of the books in the series now, so I'll have an abundance
of cat tales to enjoy. (Oh, its a kid's book series. I love children's literature.
As a Youth Services Manager, I better!) The cover art is great, too.
Also, this weekend, I gardened, read, and wrote. Steve and I stayed home so we wouldn't
spread contagion to family and friends. We sacrificed a fun weekend at a Lakehouse to keep
people safe and if we keep our cooties to ourselves, it was worth it.
Did you read anything exciting or fun over the weekend?
I hope you enjoy a good week. Be safe.
