(*Enter sounds of rain and a large stand-up bass playing in the background. Imagine the voice reading in a film noir style*)
It's a cool April night in the city. Fridays are supposed to be fun, but this dame spent it at Med Point with a dual diagnosis of sinusitis and a touch of bronchitis. Add in a chest x-ray (fortunately, clear) and a blood test to check for clots and pneumonia because I coughed up a bit of blood last night. I'm still waiting on the results from the blood draw, but I'm fairly confident it's fine, otherwise I'd already be stuck in a hospital bed in a frayed used drafty gown somewhere, so I can be grateful to move around and use the restroom instead of an ice-cold bed pan.
(*add in the sound of thunder*)
I'm on a mid-range antibiotic with a cough suppressant and a rescue inhaler. I'm grateful for the wonderful staff at the MedPoint place who offered water, encouragement, and fit me in for the bloodwork despite the fact that they were busy. I barely felt the jab in the left arm. I thanked everyone for their kindness. I don't understand people who are mean to health providers, unless they are mean first, because they are there to help. I'm grateful for guardian angels in scrubs. There were three today, and I hugged them all.
(*Exit the sound of thunder and rain, leaving the large stand-up bass playing and then fading out. *)
