Sakura Hemingway Sigety- May 2,2010 -January 22, 2020

(Sake's last night at home. 1/17/2020)

"Domestic shorthair: gray and white tiger" was Sakura's description on the veterinary specialty hospital sheet.
Yes, she was.
Sakura was a tiger.
Poly dactyl Princess was a more accurate name. Life of the party at Chez Sigety.
The loudest and most outgoing member of the Caskey-Sigety cat family was silenced this morning as a result
of kidney disease and (literally) a broken heart.
Now our hearts are broken, too.

It's quiet. Too quiet.
The silence is deafening.
I'll be going to bed soon,
and she won't be there to lie on my stomach for cuddles,
and then perch on the opposite corner, guarding me.
Steve said she's a guardian angel now.
God must have needed her more than we do.

We knew we were bringing our girl home today,
but we didn't expect to bring her home in a box.
I will write more later when the shock and grief has lessened a bit.

Thank you for all of your love and support.
Moving forward in 2020 without Sakura does not sound fun,
but we have no choice:
one poly dactyl paw in front of the other.

Godspeed, mitten kitten.
